Here we are on our 3rd wedding anniversary and I still feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Ian makes me so happy and its so amazing how far we’ve come and how our little family has grown. I have been getting a lot of wedding questions and people wanting to see more wedding pictures so I decided to re-share my wedding post. Hope you like it.
10.13.13 – Words can’t even begin to describe how magical this day was. I got married to the most amazing man in the universe and it was absolute perfection. I still feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I wanted to share some of my favorite pictures from our wedding day and some fun details. Enjoy! <3
Our wedding was held at a gorgeous pecan farm in Phoenix, AZ. I knew I wanted to be married outdoors in a garden setting and this was exactly what I was looking for. The wedding planners there are awesome and make everything so stress free for you. They also offer multiple packages that include catering, floral and decor. I know most girls stress tremendously planning a wedding and I refused to be that bride. I started planning about 8 months before the wedding and it went so smoothly. Most of our wedding was DIY…I love being crafty and am a huge lover of Pinterest and Etsy. I found that making a planning binder helped a lot. I tracked our purchases, what needed to be done and when I should do it. I ordered my wedding binder off Russell + Hazel and used their free templates to get started. If you are planning a wedding seriously do it, it was my bible.
We decided to do a first look before the wedding started and it was ahhhhmazing. Do it. A first look is a moment staged and set up by a wedding photographer for the bride and groom to see each other before the ceremony. I love everything about it and it gave us a chance to relax and have a calm moment together before the ceremony started….the tears came later! It was also nice because it gave us the chance to get more pictures together and after the ceremony we were able to spend more time dancing and chatting with all our guests.
So a lot of people have asked me where I got my dress and I’m so unhelpful because the seller whom I purchased it from no longer has a store. I fell in love with the front of one dress and the back of another and decided to take the custom made route. If you decide to do this give yourself a lot of time. My dress was made in Australia and took about 4 months to finish. Once it arrived in the States it took two more months with a local seamstress to make it “perfect”. With anything its hard to determine how something is going to fit without trying it on. I would highly recommend it though as it something that nobody else will have and you’ll feel beautiful and unique.
My biggest tip for brides planning a wedding would be to relax. Don’t stress out or sweat the small stuff….you are marrying the love of your life so ENJOY IT! 🙂 Soak up all the love, joy and bliss!
