Once upon a time, Goldfield sat up on a hill near the Superstition Mountains and the Goldfield Mountains and was a very busy town that had struck gold in 1892. The initial strike is believed to have been worth as much as three million dollars which was obviously a huge amount of money in the days of the Wild West. The land went dry and attempts to re-open the town were unsuccessful, therefore it became a ghost town. Apparently it is very haunted as well.

We decided to take a day trip up to visit and it was great. The weather was a perfect 70 degrees and a gorgeous day for walking around. This little town has a ton of attractions all nestled together within a short walking distance. We had lunch in a saloon (burger was delicioussss btw) and explored the town.

We paid $1.00 for Ian to get into a “gun fight”, be thrown in jail, and hung at the gallows. It was hilarioussss. We didn’t expect it but he had an audience of about 30-40 people watching….thank goodness he isn’t shy.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday, xoxo.
